Clandestino are a trio of Leeds based DJs who have been involved in the city's underground music scene for over 15 years; regularly throwing diverse parties and bringing exciting new DJ talent to town. Their visionary booking policy saw them invite Erol Alkan, Tim Sweeney, Simian Mobile Disco, Todd Terje, Optimo and Joakim to Leeds long before they became the established acts they are today. Their sound takes in influences from the glory days of Acid House, the melodic elements of Balearica and the energy of Disco while always being focused at the dance floor.
After a busy year in 2015 producing and remixing tracks on Manchester's EL Diablo's Social Club, an EP for Rothmans Music, an exclusive track for Yam Who's Midnight Riot compilation, and a brace of releases on Is it Balearic? & Youth's Nein Records imprint, it was time to start up their long awaiting label.
CLAN001 is a sampler of carefully selected artists that reflects the ethos of the label. On the A side is 'Wonder', our collaboration with Private Agenda who contribute a beautiful male vocal and melody line resulting in our most 'pop' sounding production to date. Pleased to welcome A Vision Of Panorama to the record on A2 who's 'Pastel Beach' is a breezy, tropical inspired rhythm to herald the sound of summer. On the flip side for B1 we have Bird of Paradise with 'Boys of Brass', an edgier club focused sound aimed at late-night dance floors. Finishing off the record on B2 is Coyote's 'Dead Feathers', a deep and emotive slow burner for just after twilight.
